NASA: Watts on the Moon Challenge Finalist

I worked with Orbital Mining Corporation to develop a novel Li-Po Battery Management System that could survive in the harsh environment of the lunar surface.

This battery pack was submitted as a subsystem of the final proposal to NASA for their Watts on the Moon challenge, and was mentioned as a component of the project on their website!

I was extremely proud of the experience I gained from this project including:

  • Designing with redundancies for reliability

  • Aluminum milling, manufacturing and machine tolerances

  • Battery management theory and design

  • Li-Po Testing and Soldering
