The Artificial Plant Emotion Expressor (APEX)

APEX is a smart (not to mention cute) plant monitoring device. Just plug it into any plant and it will display the "happiness" level of the plant! This is a great reminder to water your plants if you have a bad habit of forgetting to water them.

This project was created in collaboration with the Urban Farming Guys as a way to inspire kids about smart farming!

2020 Update:

This project has led to the inspiration of the Green Thumb Project, and was even brought to my second year at MozFest London as an interactive session! In other news, I’m currently working on a custom PCB Learn-2-Solder Kit for this project. More updates to come!
