Wow! And so it begins. Today marks the very first day of what will hopefully be a very long adventure of creating, inventing, and rambling. Thank you for joining me! I’m not an eloquent writer, but I’ll do my best to fill this website with useful (and hopefully entertaining) content.
I guess as my first post, I should talk about what this blog is about, and what I’m hoping to do with it!
So, what is Facio Ergo Sum? Facio Ergo Sum is the (rough) Latin translation for “I make, therefore I am.” I chose this title, because I believed it represented who I am at a fundamental level. Making is the core of my identity. Everything I’ve done in life has been in the pursuit of creating. My last name, McIntyre, literally means Maker! If I’m not building things, I’m probably not conscious.
Secondary to making, I love learning/teaching (Teaching is Learning!). I love sharing the things that I learn with others. Knowledge is power, and it’s our job to share the knowledge we accumulate in life with those around us, to build them up, and give back. My achievements are built on the shoulders of the wise people around me, and I only hope that I can do the same for others.
Outside of sharing my projects, and writing some handy tutorials, I’m also going to use this blog to vent my frustrations, share my successes, and reminisce on my failures. If it pops into my head, and I think it’s interesting enough to talk about, you’ll probably find it here. So get ready for lots of very long, semi-rambling, and very nerdy posts, ranging anywhere from sharing funny memes and stories, to weaponizing a Furby, or venting about why the newest Star Wars trilogy is a piece of cinematic garbage.
